The Gap We Saw
When we looked at India's women's fashion landscape, we noticed something frustrating: the country with the world's richest textile heritage — block prints from Rajasthan, chikankari from Lucknow, ikat from Odisha, Kalamkari from Andhra — had very few brands that truly celebrated everyday Indian women.
The big fashion brands catered to a narrow slice of India — metro cities, certain body types, a specific aesthetic. Women in smaller cities, women who wore plus sizes, women who wanted something between ultra-casual and heavily bridal — they were being underserved.
That's where Nyaree began: with the conviction that every Indian woman deserves beautiful, thoughtfully designed kurtis and women's tops — regardless of her city, her size, her budget, or her occasion.
What "Nyaree" Means
The name Nyaree draws from the word Nayari — meaning "unique" or "singular" in its beauty. We believe every Indian woman is uniquely beautiful, and our designs aim to reflect and celebrate that individuality rather than impose a single standard of style.
